Roelf Nel
Director
Roelf is privileged to lead the great team at Roelf Nel Incorporated to ever higher levels.
He specializes in both the delivery of infrastructure and energy projects with extensive experience in construction advisory project execution mandates and dispute resolution relating to these types of projects.
Roelf has a passion for the construction sector and presents training on standard form construction contracts to the industry and the legal profession.
Sanjee Maharaj
Legal Director
Sanjee is a Senior Associate at Roelf Nel Inc. She qualified as a legal practitioner in 2019. She was previously employed at a construction boutique law firm in Sandton and thereafter worked at an international law firm in Sandton, specializing in projects and construction.
In summary, Sanjee has acted on behalf of various clients involved in complex disputes, both in adjudication and arbitration proceedings in the engineering and construction sectors. Whilst her experience is mainly disputes, she is passionate about commercial drafting and enjoys drafting construction-based contracts.
Daniellé Giannico
Associate
She obtained her LLB from the University of Pretoria in 2018, joined the firm in early 2019, and was admitted as an attorney in 2021. Since joining the firm Daniellé has been focusing on litigation, which has become a passion of hers.
This passion is channelled into her work; as a result, she has been involved with and continues to run various adjudications, arbitrations, and high court litigation matters.
Her further interests lie in tackling the challenges of ever-advancing technology and how the law, which is often slow to catch up, applies to these new advancements. Her focus is on the challenges faced by industry role players operating in ever more collaborative environments which the current standard form construction contracts do not provide for.
Wilhelm Smith
Associate
Wilhelm is an associate at the firm, since joining the firm in 2023.
Wilhelm was admitted as an attorney in 2012, and since then he was admitted as both a Conveyancer and a Notary in 2018. Wilhelm is the head of the Conveyancing department of RN Inc.
He assists clients with the transfer of their immovable property or antenuptial agreements.
He can also be found doing litigation. He has a keen eye for detail and enjoys the thrill of successful litigious matters.
When not working Wilhelm enjoys spending time in the great outdoors.
Kuhle Khumalo
Associate
Kuhle earned her law degree from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal and furthered her expertise with an Advanced Certificate in Construction Contract Law from the University of Pretoria. Joining our firm in April 2024, Kuhle has since spearheaded impactful initiatives centered around community engagement and upliftment.
Her robust skill set includes legal document preparation, dispute resolution, analytical skills, legal research, legal writing, and stakeholder engagement. With her strong commitment to the legal field and a keen eye for detail, Kuhle consistently delivers high-quality legal services, ensuring the best outcomes for our clients.
Keegan Beaton
Associate Designate
“Keegan, is an Associate Designate at our firm, and has a keen interest in corporate and contract law. He graduated with a B. Comm Law Degree from North-West University in 2017 and later obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree at UNISA.
He’s especially interested in construction and engineering law and has experience in adjudication and arbitration proceedings.
Keegan is known for his commitment to work and ability to tackle complex legal challenges. Outside work, he’s a cricket enthusiast, reflecting his energetic approach to his profession.”
Pelonomi Letsholo
Candidate Attorney and Managing Director Professional Assistance
Pelo joined RN Inc as a Candidate Attorney in February 2023 after obtaining her BA in Law (2019) and LLB (2021) degrees from North-West University.
She is a self-driven individual who is motivated and inspired by excellence and positive outcomes. Her candidacy at RN Inc. has provided her with an opportunity to learn more about the specialized field of Construction Law and its intricacies. She hopes to grow in her knowledge of how construction contracts are navigated and how legal disputes arising therefrom are resolved through mediations, arbitrations, and adjudications. She believes through working alongside the incredible team at the firm she will also be sharpened in her leadership, character, and professional development. She is actively working towards her admission in 2025.
Pelo believes that the price of greatness is responsibility and accountability. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and trying out new restaurants.
Daniel Pillay
Candidate Attorney
Daniel is a dedicated and ambitious candidate attorney who joined RN Inc in January 2024. He earned a B.Comm Law Degree in 2021, laying the foundation for a successful career in law. Building upon this strong academic background, Daniel furthered his education by obtaining an LLB Degree from North West University in 2023, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in legal studies.
Driven by a passion for the intricacies of the law, Daniel possesses a particular interest in contract law, construction law, and environmental law. This keen interest reflects a broader commitment to fostering justice, sustainability, and ethical practices within the legal profession.
Known for his unwavering work ethic and proactive approach, Daniel approaches every task with diligence and determination and hopes to be admitted in 2026. His enthusiasm for the legal field is evident in his eagerness to tackle new challenges, continuously expand his skill set, and stay abreast of emerging legal developments.
Nancy Hamity
Practice Manager
Nancy joined the RN Inc Team in June 2022 as the Practice Manager, with a special focus on Public Relations, Organization Development, and Training. She also assists with internal affairs like Accounts, HR, QMS, and Compliance.
Nancy studied Architecture at the Nacional university in Cordoba Argentina. While working for an Engineering company she pursued her studies as a Project Manager and a few years later HR Management at the University of Pretoria.
Nancy is enthusiastic about adding value to everything she does. Her personality is based on doing the right thing, and she believes in a team effort in all situations. She is convinced if we do all the good, we can do, no events will have the power to make us happy or unhappy. Recognizing that opportunities do not happen, we create them, we can move forward.
Tarini Davrajh
Debtors & Creditors Clerk
Tarini Davrajh is currently a BCom Law student.
She is dedicated and detailed orientated professional with a diverse background in office administration, accounting, and sales. She has a proven ability to streamline operations and enhance client interactions.
Wiehan Palmer
Consultant
Wiehan is a consultant at the firm, currently studying towards his LLB, and the director of HAC-CS (Pty)Ltd, specializing in Dispute Resolution and Contract Administration under NEC3 & 4, FIDIC, GCC, and JBCC. Wiehan holds a BSc in Construction Management and an MSc degree in Project Management, and a certificate in Construction Adjudication.
Wiehan’s significant local and international experience in a wide spectrum of built environment industries including Mining, Hydrocarbons, Infrastructure, Energy, Commercial Building, Education, Medical (Research and Hospital), and Residential has shaped his depth of understanding of contracts from different perspectives under different conditions.
This has enabled him to advise Clients from all spheres of the Construction Industry from pre-tender to closeout phases in the various contract forms and their optimized application and use. The aforementioned has also enabled Wiehan to successfully conclude numerous adjudications with success. Wiehan is also passionate about transferring knowledge and has trained in excess of 3000 delegates in amongst others the NEC3 & NEC4 Suite of Contracts, FIDIC Suite of Contracts, GCC, JBCC, Delay and Disruption, Basic Contract Law etc.
